VOL.1 NO.2 JANUARY-MARCH 2007

President De Leon graces Commencement Exercises

Mindanao State University-Buug College held its Commencement Exercises last March 26, 2007 at the MSU-BC mini-gymnasium at ten O’clock in the morning. Just before the program started, the ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the building mark of the Center for Information Technology was done. After a short while, the graduation exercises commenced. Sultan Taha G. Sarip, the very active director of MSU-Buug College did the honor of presenting the officials and guests. Present in the said affair were Prof. Salic A. Abdul, the dean of the King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies (KCFIAAS), who at the same time was the Baccalaureate Speaker of the college department, his better-half Hja. Ashia M. Dimakuta-Abdul, Dr. Cesar P. Demayo, the Commencement Speaker and the MSU System President Dr. Ricardo F. De Leon. President De Leon did the conferment of Degrees and Titles to the graduates. It was indeed a very memorable occasion for the MSU-BC family for it was the very first time in the history of MSU-Buug’s graduation ceremony that an occasion like this was graced by no less than the MSU-System President. In the evening of that same day, a simple yet very meaningful get-together party of the graduates, both high school and college, was made at the Green Palace Inland Resort. President De Leon, through the advent of high technology, brought the graduates to a “campus tour” of MSU-Marawi. The graduates, in return, were so enthralled seeing the beauty of the main campus.
